An interesting interactive lecture for high school and university students titled "Media v. Reality: American Culture in Context" will be held by professor and Fulbright scholar Patrick Mcgrath on June 6th at 5.00 pm at the American Corner Novi Sad.

Media vs. Reality: American Culture in Context

This presentation, featuring two Fulbright ETAs from the U.S. currently living in Serbia, will be a fun and interactive discussion of American culture and values as portrayed in the media versus real life, with lots of audience participation. The program is especially designed for high school and college students, but all are welcome.

Jessica Collins, Lecturer at the University of Niš, Emma Brandt, Lecturer at the University of Kragujevac, and Patrick McGrath, Lecturer at the State University of Novi Pazar, will hold a presentation on May 20, with topic: "Media vs. Reality:American Culture in Context".

Joyce Carol Oates is one of the most prolific and critically acclaimed authors in modern American fiction. Oates has mapped the personal and communal experience of what it means to be American in the previous and current centuries. The lecture will attempt to do the same by travelling through Oates’s fiction from the 1960s onwards.
